Hi sailing parents this is one of your Coaches, Sofia. I primarily coach Mercury Mentors in the morning. I am here to tell you guys what we did today!
Today we had an exciting time at sailing camp and it also was our environmental education day! We received a call from our local pirates that there was buried treasure at Whiskey Creek. They told us of a legend about the treasure that was hidden under an x. All of our sailors boarded our coach boats and we all headed to the creek. We hunted down the prize by following what the legend told us where to find it. We walked along the beach searching until we cam upon an x made of seaweed! we dug it up and found the treasure. The best part about the treasure was that we could eat it because it was watermelon! We danced, sang, and jumped in the water while we ate and celebrated our discovery. After we were all done we headed back to LYC to swim in the pool and eat lunch. Today we also learned a lot about our environment and even saw turtle nests!
In the afternoon, storms were looming so we played sailing games and went for an extra swim in the pool!
