The LYC Lil’ Optis’ program is a beginner level skills based sailing curriculum for small kids 6-8 years old. Sailors who have graduated from LYC Learn to Sail Summer Camp are invited to join.
The program will serve as a bridge between Learn to Sail and the competitive LYC Green Fleet Sailing Team allowing the younger sailors an opportunity to foster their skills throughout the academic school year without the burden of competition.
LYC applies a “process oriented” approach to measure a sailor’s development. Work ethic, application of lessons learned, effort, skills improvement etc are some of the metrics we use to evaluate a sailor’s success.

End Date: December 13, 2023
Practice schedule: Throughout the season regularly scheduled weekday practices will provide the outlet for learning. Attendance to practice is highly encouraged.

LYC Member: $ 745
Non-Member: $ 955
All decisions regarding program admission and safety will be made by the coaching staff and Sailing Director. Weather conditions may require coaching staff to restrict/ cancel practices for safety concerns. All session fees are non-refundable.
